(that’s “hello” in Philippines)

I am Paul and I joined Novo Nordisk’s International Operations Business Graduate Programme in September 2015. I’m currently on my third rotation with the Biopharm Business Unit in Bogota, Colombia.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Management, major in Legal Management and minor in Enterprise Development degree from Ateneo De Manila University in the Philippines. I obtained my Master in Business Administration degree from Hult International Business School in Boston, United States and did a rotation in London, United Kingdom. As for my interests; I love cooking various dishes, I also like to run and play football, and finally, I love travelling to learn about cultures.

Through this blog, I will be sharing my experiences with the programme from getting that first interview to what I am currently involved in. I also hope to answer your questions and guide you in your journey. Feel free to reach out and I would gladly answer your questions!

“life-changing career” – What it Means For Me

June has finally arrived and in 3 months, the graduate programme for the 2015 batch will be wrapping up. In football terms, we’re in the last 15 minutes of the game with everything there is to win. Indeed, the programme has been true to its tag-line: “life-changing career”. I have learned so much about Novo […]

Before 30 Years Old

“Before 30 years old, follow somebody. Go to a small company. Normally, in a big company, it is good to learn processing; you are part of a big machine. But when you go to a small company, you learn the passion, you learn the dreams. You learn how to do a lot of things at […]

Networking 101: Do’s and Don’t’s

First of all, congratulations to those who have already started their interview processes. It’s going to be an exciting journey and like what my mentor has told me before, “enjoy and just be yourself!” Over the last several days, I have received multiple emails asking for information, personal tips, and questions about the graduate programmes. […]

If there’s one word to describe our experience…

One of the most amazing things that can happen during the graduate programme is that you get to grow your network exponentially. You get to meet colleagues from all over the world, especially on your 2nd rotation. In the International Operations Business Programme 2015 batch, there’s a Mexican (Guillermo), Brazilian (Joao), Colombian (Julianna), Bangladeshi (Saifur), Iranian (Navid), […]

Mornings at Kobenhavn Lufthavn (Copenhagen Airport)

Monday, it’s 4:30 AM and my alarm goes off. It’s one of those mornings when I needed to fly to one of the affiliates in Europe for a project meeting. I got out of bed quickly, did my morning routine, called the cab, and set off for the airport. Transportation in Denmark is very convenient […]

And here […]

3-Rs: Steps I did before that 1st interview

In this post, I am going to share the steps I took to get to that first interview. Having zero background in the industry I wanted to learn more about the history of Novo Nordisk’s, and how the company operates around the world and in my country. Hence, I made it a point to understand […]

Why I joined despite having no background in pharmaceuticals

“Why don’t you try applying in the pharmaceutical industry?,” I was asked in one of the networking events I attended in May 2014. Little did I know then, that question would have a big factor in my life. I never pictured myself to be working in the pharmaceutical industry because it was very foreign to me until […]
